What the game stores on your device

LoLPatchdle saves your guesses, hints and results of the day, your stats and streak, your settings (for example hide “In this patch”, Challenger, colourblind tiles) and a random player ID in your browser's local storage, so you don't lose today's game when you reload. This data stays on your device. There are no accounts, and we never ask for your name or email.

The game also sets one small first-party cookie, dg_day, on dailyguess.org and its subdomains (the domain this site is on). It holds today's date, which daily puzzles you have finished today and your current streaks, nothing else. LoLPatchdle uses it to remember finished modes and your streak, also when local storage is blocked. It never leaves our servers, isn't used for advertising and expires after 400 days. You can delete it in your browser at any time; you only lose the streak display.

When you pick a language with the language switch, a second cookie, dg_lang, remembers it (for example de), so the game opens in that language next time. It is a display preference only, isn't used for tracking or advertising and expires after 400 days.

What our server receives

When you guess, your browser sends the patch you picked, the mode and the puzzle number to our server so it can check it. To count how many people play and solve each puzzle, the game also sends the random player ID, the number of guesses and hints and whether you solved or revealed the answer. This is stored without your IP address and isn't linked to your name or any other data. We only use it for anonymous statistics about the game.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard connection data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Images and fonts are served from this site: your browser sends no request to Riot Games.

Advertising and cookies from Google

LoLPatchdle shows ads from Google AdSense to pay for running the site. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads, measure them and personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. Visitors from Switzerland, the European Economic Area and the UK are asked for their consent first, through Google's consent message. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with Cookie settings (also at the bottom of every page of the game).

Where data is processed

Cloudflare and Google may process data outside Switzerland, including in the USA. Both providers commit to data protection standards recognised under Swiss and EU law, such as the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask us what we know about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. As we don't know who you are, the anonymous game statistics usually can't be traced back to you; if you send us your player ID (found in your browser's local storage), we will delete its rows. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
